Winter light + Utter love

What a treat this shoot was! An absolute uplift of a treat. Sarah and I know one another already. I captured her wonderful marketing business pre-Covid, and we’ve shared some really insightful conversations and some gorgeously-lit walks over the last 12 months. To be asked to capture her world was a real honour.

Harry and Madelyn are utterly wonderful in their character and soul. The way they play and engage is really captivating. It became almost as though I wasn’t there at points - which is when you know you’re just going to get it. Whatever ‘it’ is - when you become invisible it happens in it’s truest form. Madelyn with her dolls and her caring nature, sat in the shadows and the winter sun. Then Harry immersed in his new book, and giving us an insight to the plot and the characters. The camera wasn’t the camera. It was a looking glass.

Sarah and Pete live gorgeously rurally, therefore we were able to hop into our cars and drive up to the hills and the woodland. The sun was golden and glowing, and the air was desolate. The sense of freedom amidst all the stress and chaos of a busy winter was just glorious. Harry and Maddie together, huddling, laughing and maintaining their playful nature; Sarah and Pete, as chilled as can be, soaking it all in and enjoying their regular haunt of the wide-open space - I honestly couldn’t have asked for more.

Winter light holds something truly magical. Thankyou Sarah, Pete, Harry and Madelyn for igniting this in all it’s beauty!

Enjoy the peep…
