Hello, I’m Sally.
I'd like to share my story with you, so that you understand more about me and what makes me tick. Firstly, photography is a huge part of my life. It's a transportation - a place to be 'you’. It's a place to be authentic and free; an embrace of all that you are, and all that you stand for.
To me, lifestyle and family photography is about life. Sounds simple, but done well, it makes for stand-out memories. As a mother of two, I know all too well how quickly the time goes. Marking milestones for me isn't about aesthetic perfection. It's not about wanting to shed the skin you're in - it's about celebrating the every-day. It's about all our quirks and nuances, our imperfections and individuality. It's about the moments that light us up and make us grin, as well as the hand-through-hair 'oh my word, slow down!' chants as we chase our kids, waddling off in their wellies!
As a former primary school teacher, I have the advantage of being able to help your kids feel at ease. I am a huge advocate of freedom and play, and this is incorporated within the way that I work. No pressure, subtle direction and above all - truth. I want you to feel your amazing selves in all your truth. Yes, this includes the chocolate-smeared fingers, the puddle-splashed leggings and the tired-tantrums. Because that's the truth. The best images aren't necessarily the obvious ones. As the years pass, we can forget that little waddle, the mischief in their eyes, the tiredness we felt and how life froze for those moments. We all need a stopping point to remember our lives by.
I like to think that I see the world in my own artistic and unique way. Ever since I was a girl, I spent many hours watching the world and the people within it. I am one of life's observers, and this gives me a real eye-for-detail. This is reflected in the images that I return to you. It's more than a gallery of images; it's your world as you know it.
I think that's pretty magical.
